Aug. 2026: Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick

My name is Ainsley Cox, and I am a second year elementary education major at the University of Victoria. I am born and raised on Vancouver Island.

I have a deep rooted passion for working alongside students through many different areas including teaching, coaching, tutoring, and more. I have over a decade of working experience with children, and I feel so passionate to have found something that I not only love, but that motivates me and pushes me to be better in every aspect of my life.

Outside of the classroom or working, my favourite things to do include hiking, reading, swimming and running, and learning. One of my favourite interests is genealogy, and studying how an individual came to be throughout time.

Through teaching, I hope to inspire students in a multitude of ways to not only love the completion of something, but the learning process of achieving it. I hope to cultivate an interest in all subjects, especially those that may be viewed as “scary”, “too difficult”, or “boring”.
